'Tadhana'? Sara Duterte jokes about being in same building as Trillanes - TRENDING SIDE

MANILA- Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Friday made light of learning that she was in the same hotel as Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, a staunch critic of her family.

In a Facebook post, the President's daughter showed a Viber conversation with a friend who had told her of Trillanes' presence in the same building.

"Perfect timing. Ako na bibira. Pahiram ng martilyo," Duterte jokingly responded. She also captioned the photo "That Thing Called Tadhana," in reference to the 2014 Filipino film.

Since the campaign period last year, Trillanes has been vocal in criticizing the Mayor's father, President Rodrigo Duterte, and more recently her husband Manases Carpio, and her brother, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.

Trillanes claims that Paolo Duterte and Carpio have more than P100 million in bank deposits and have linked the two to corruption at the Bureau of Customs. They both denied the charges.

The senator also claimed that Paolo Duterte had a back tattoo that would prove the latter's alleged membership in a drug triad, of which the Davao City mayor also poked fun.

The President earlier defended his son and son-in-law against Trillanes' charges, calling his evidence against them "trash."
